My friend has a Zenoah G62 with the spring starter system. When he goes through the start procedure there is a terrific noise from the spring starter- it sounds metalic in nature. The noise is reduced slightly if he does not wind the prop back as far, however it is still present. He has taken it apart several times and everything is in place. He has also lubricated it with grease. There is nothing wrong with the engine, it runs just fine. The only problem appears to be with the spring starterI have friends with the same system and they do not get this noise.
Any input or suggestions would be appreciated.
