I recently got my 3d freedom completed and had the first few flights logged. The plane weighs 9lb 12oz with a saito 180 turning a 16x8 prop at 9400rpm. I run it at 9k for flight. the plane doesnt have much ground clearance, thats why the 16" prop.
Take off at 1/2 throttle in 20' and unlimited vertical at 3/4 throttle. to say its over powered is an understatement. Flight performance is EXACTLY as the sig somethin extra, I mean exactly. The only difference is that it will hold a knife edge better. I wont flat spin either. Torque rolls are possible, spins are fast, and it will snap great. Throttle management is a must, i broke my flying wires on the 3rd flight. Landings are a breeze, it drops airspeed fast and floats to the deck.
All in all, if you like the somethin extra, you will like this plane. It isn't the perfect 3d plane but it is very fun. I would say the 180 is too much for this plane, its great but you need to manage the throttle the whole flight. A 120 or 150 would be a better match for the more casual flier.
you can see pics of this plane on the ak site, its the flourescent green plane, and no I didn't pick the colors
