You may have been flooded or your battery is a little low.
I start my Saito 100 with a standard Hobbico starter, no problem.
I agree, most ringed 4-strokes spin over pretty easy compared to ABC 2-strokes. If it is flooded, I would be careful that you don't hydraulic lock it and bend the connecting rod.
