Get some of the stick apoxy that comes in the tubes that you kneed together with your fingers they make it for plastics ...scuff up around the area fill in a littl bit and let it dry and it should be fine.....the stuff is like clay so you can shape it and smooth it out by wetting your finger and smearing it.
That's what i would do..then paint it and you won't even know it's there....
