I was in NYC the day that 300 went down and was watching the news from a customer in Brooklyn when they showed the first pictures. The plane was destroyed and there was a nice shiney fin being pulled out of the bay in 1 piece. I don't think Airbus used enough "Kicker".

When I was a kid I had a Midwest Cardinal Squire with Fox 78 and had cracked the fin in a bad landing into the weeds. I mixed up some "Five Minute Epoxy" and glued it back on. About 6 minutes later I was running up the engine and my flying buddy Sandy asked " are you sure that glue is dry"? Of course was my answer, "it's five minute epoxy and it's now 8 minutes". Off we went and at the top of a big loop I found out Sandy had a good point. Somewhere I still have that shiney fin and the rest of the plane was destroyed.

If it's not Boeing I'm not going.
