Also one of the guys that i fly with says that for new engines you shoud not 3D it much because they are still breaking in and that puts a lot of pressure which means extra heat. I have only glow 3D planes is the same true for gas?

Prolonged hovering, etc isn't advised on brand new engines. Use an appropriate oil mix, fresh gas, take the time to tune it, baffle for proper cooling, and heat cycle the engine (fly normal flight varying throttle, and let completely cool down before next flight). This will efficiently break in the engine.
