Yes, you need to alter your glow starter to connect the attachment shown in your photo. I cut my glow starter, soldered one end of a Dean's ultra connector, and then made two harnesses that I could connect one for regular glow head, and then other for the remote connector. Plus/minus does not matter. You just need current to flow.
Oh, on the remote connector that attaches to the glow stem make sure that your add some heat shrink between the wire and the remote connector. Otherwise it will soon break from vibration. I also like to replace the engine ground connector fork with a ring type connector. That ground connector is very soft and fragile.
I never had any use for the small aluminum sleeve that comes with the unit.
This is a good unit and will last hundreds of flights if you make the modifications. There is a Tetra glow plug connector that is much more durable, but I did not like using it because it is not easy to remove. This is the best remote glow system out there in my opinion.
