Default RE: Evolution 26 GT

My MVVS 26 (same as Evolution) with the tunedpipe swings MenzS 18-6 at 9000 rpm on the ground (about 3.3 hp) and this is exactly the same as my ASP 180 fs on the very same prop. The difference is in the cost of fuel, power is the same.
If your plane is designed to use a 140-150 fs engine then the evolution with the pipe will provide similar power and fly the plane just fine. The weight penalty can be greatly reduced by using a much smaller tank than you would use if you went for a glow engine. this is because the gas engine will only use about half the amount of fuel for the same time in the air as a glow engine would use, so the take off weight will be close to identical.
