Well,

just in case there is anybody else out there shopping for a new 50cc engine and trying to decide which one to get, I just wanted to put down my vote for the DL. As some of you know I have been posting in this tread for a while, but now that I've got the two gallons of break-in fuel and probably another six or eight more gallons through it (I know, that's still not very much), I just wanted to say I still absolutely love this engine. I just returned from another IMAC contest (in Terre Haute, IN) and the engine performed flawlessly (as it has been all along). Now I can extend my vertical lines as high as I like. And with the Slimline Pitts muffler (made for the DA 50), I got a few "quiet" rankings in the sound scrores which surprised me a little bit. I've settled on the Xoar 22 x 8 laminated. I finished 10th out of 15 in Sportsman which is nothing to write home about, but is respectable (considering I had the only 50cc plane at the whole event - that's my excuse!). I'll stick with the little guy (27% Extra) for the rest of the season and maybe jump up to something larger next year.

Anyway, the DL is working superbly.
