DA50 midrange and transition question
Hi,
This is my first gasser airplane that I got as a bargain from a good friend (1000$ for airplane, DA50, servos, batteries) and the engine right now have more than 50 flights (53 to be exact) so the brake in period is over. The problem is that when I give one, two or three clicks of throttle (if radio stick is below half travel) the engine sounds very erratic and it just accelerates with big movements on the throttle stick, as this is my first gasser I don“t know if it is normal for DA gas engines to have such a bad midrange and transition (very hard to belive).
My friend told me that we could lean the engine but that will affect the life of the engine. He is a good person but as far as I know he is not an engine expert and want to ask here to be sure if I should get used to it or if we need to lean the engine.
I have flown airplanes with Quadra engines and they do not act like this DA50 so I doubt this engine should act in this way.
Thanks for your imput.
