I made a KING KONG starter from an aftermarket geared down starter intended for a Pontiac..Made a 4" aluminum cone for a 3" Miller rubber sleeve..Put a flat plate across the front with 2 handles...A momentary on kill switch from a chainsaw..12 volt battery on a small 2 wheel cart..Welding cables from the battery to the built in solenoid on the starter...Turns my 289cc Herbrandson race twin 3000 rpm....Insdtant starts all weekend at the races....

Overkill ? Ask the other racers whose wimpy starters won't start their race engines...
