Neither. Plastic works best. Look at all the buggies and truck and you'll notice all are plasic with aluminum braces. A friend made me a partial roll cage with a steel tube and after a heavy crash it ws already out of whack. Not worth the time. You need the flex in plastic. You can always try carbon fibre rods!
