Hey, maybe you should have your eyes checked. Don't laugh, I had a similar problem.
I can see perfect up close like reading, and count the antlers on a buck at 300 yards with the naked eye.

ButI would loose orientation on smaller birds at roughtly 100 yards a lot.

Finally admmitted I'm getting old, and went to the eye doc. Got a pair of glasses and holy bat man, like night and day now. And honestly I've saved a couple of birds already that before would have been toast.
