Default RE: Why Hoss?

ORIGINAL: combatpigg

I think Hoss had hopes of limiting the conversation to those who have ERNEST AMA related concerns. By asking for your name and AMA number, that is like asking for "ernest money" in a real estate transaction. It keeps the "tire kickers" from cluttering things up.

What were you thinking, Hoss?

Well, CP, seems ta' me ya' done got it all figured out. RCU was kind enough to make that space available, so I feel a certain responsibility to help keep the place somewhat above the bar-room crowd of a late Sat. night. Yes, I BTDT so I have a fair idea of that crowd. I have witnessed the drawing of pistols, and the flash of knives. Just seems to me that the AMA EVP subforum can remain a couple steps above this regular forum.

Now if you would please, don't tell anyone this little secret. The thought of checking persons displaying name and number using the AMA's name and number system, really never crossed my mind. Basically, as you stated, it was simply to help keep that place slightly above this place where all are invited to party.
I have never used that system for anything except twice, once I used my name and number, just to see if it worked, and once again a few years ago to see if they had changed my own info., shortly after I became a Life Member and my AMA # changed from 539 to L-93.
Sure hope I did not infringe on my rights. Why, I might have taken a swing at that ugly old F-rt that watches me shave each morning. Of course the Club secretary uses it because there are people that are not always truthful. Sad as it may be, some people just love to stretch things a bit too far.
Now here somewhere, mikel even quoted me as saying that I do not bother with that detail. If someone is man enough to post his name and number that was good enough for me. His passionate ignorance let that little hint fly right over his head. I hate to laugh at someone unless they are laughing at themselves, however there are a few here that do make me smile and wonder.

Again, CP, thanks for the help.
