RE: What do you use to seal you carb, etc?
supertib...that silicone you describe sounds a lot like "flowable" silicone that is typically sold in auto parts stores to seal water leaks around windshields.
I have been using it for a couple of years...and seems to hold up well. It doesn't have that strong vinegar (eye watering/nostril burning ) odor...or at least not quite as bad anyway.
