Very much fun listening to your very accurate account Gordon.
I really enjoy the small, specific gatherings with willing participants.
Big gatherings with lots of stuff to shoot are fun. But being able to develop specific shots and then execute them allows planning a story, as opposed to shoot what's happening and build a story from it later.
It helps when the talent is willing, and, in 105˚ heat, does it in one take.
