RE: First plane?
Look I don't want to knock HobbyZone planes. They're probably fine. I'm familiar with the Typhoon. I've seen it flown alot. I wouldn't get it for your first 3D. Stick with the flat foam wing planes. Stay with the (approx) 37"-38" wing planes. They'll weigh less that 16oz. Get a Hacker 20/20L, a Berg receiver, a 1320mhr 3cell Thunderpower battery, and 4 Hitec HS55 servos, an APC 11X3.8 prop. You'll need a charger for the battery. I have two foam planes both flat wing. One has 28" wing (DW Foamies) weighs 4.5oz. The other has 38" wing (Charger RC) and weighs about 16oz. The larger plane flys as well as any plane I own. Don't let people tell you they fall out of the sky when the throttle is cut. Mine will land at a crawl. I mean, let the tail touch and cut the throttle and it drops to the ground. I'm amazed at how well it flies. The small plane really needs to be flown inside but I have flown it outside twice and it "don't like the wind", any wind.
Add up the price of the stuff above and the plane costs $49 and comes with everything you need except the stuff I listed.
