The best glue that I ever used for point hinges is called Gorilla Glue. This glue will expand 3-4 times over. Just a little on the point and end area, it will fill and it will not pull out. It will give You about 40 minutes or a little less to lock.

I have even used this glue on a fire wall that had pulled out. On point hinges it works best.
