I use nothing but Gorilla Glue (the kind jship mentioned) on my hinge points. Just be sure to use vasoline on the hinge pin before you use any of these glues..but not to get any on the other parts of the hinge....just the joint.

I've never had a hinge point pull out without breaking the surrounding wood with Gorilla Glue.

Can't say I'd recommend it with regular du-bro style pinned hinges, but for the point style hinges, hard to beat!
