Default RE: the hyper st PRO thread!

ORIGINAL: CrysisFX

hey we just got a hyper st pro and what are common things that break on them. i can see the knuckles above, but ive also heard radio boxes and brakes as well. if someone could explain why people are replacing these with different ones it would be appreciated.
1.) Well, I seem to be the only one here having knuckles problems - but as said, here in Germany it appears to be common.

2.) The radio box is just dumb, because you have to uncrew what, six screws and undo/redo 2 zip-ties to change batteries.. So lots of guys change to the Hyper 8 box. Requires drilling in the chassis though, so I left it.

3.) Some guys have problems with the tank. Apparently its shape causes leaning problems. I haven't had this yet. I do find the tank a bit wobbly, and don't care for the side opening style of it.. Again, putting a Mugen tank in requires drilling the chassis..

4.) Something I haven't heard mentioned much, but next on my list of things to address will be servo-tray flex.. When I brake the flex is pretty extreme. I saw a guy who fixed this by taking one of the plastic wing mounts included in the kid, and fitting it in to make an extra support on the outside of the tray, between the servos...

5.) The mud guards are kind of dumb. So some people use the Losi 8T guards - at least on the pipe-side - to better cover the pipe.. I don't really see an issue there, so haven't messed with it.

6.) The brakes suck. You can fix this with the Cradock disc brakes available at a-main.. I think I'm gonna try some CEN Matrix brakes, cuz somebody here said they were good...(Confirm???)

Anyway, #2-5 are all really minor IMO.. The knuckle thing though is driving me freakin' nuts.... And yeah, my brakes are pretty lame.
