Do a google on Lanier laser 200. lots of stuff. Turn out my 1/4 scale kit has a 72" span The 1/3 scale is a 96" span. Your 87 seems to be in the gap. My first though was a scratch build, and I may be leaning back to that again. You might check some of the old plans sites, IE MAN, nad Model Avaiation for a start and see what they were cranking out. Like I said before, the wing joining looks like an ACE setup.

Good luck on finding out what you have, actually I think you know what, just not by who. I've got a pattern plane about the same vintage and size and I've struck out figuring out what it is.
