RE: Need some help with buying electronics
A few weeks ago my trusty high torque, metal gear, steering servo died during the final heat of a race (nothing good lasts forever...). I could only find a standard servo in my box, so that is what I installed as a spare. It only took 15 minutes to trash it. It was stripped out and ruined by the end of the main.
My suggestion is to take whatever standard servos come with your new radio and sell them on eBay. Use the money, to buy quality ones instead. (If you buy a Spektrum, the 590 might be okay for throttle/brake, but is not fast or strong enough to use for steering).
