I bought a losi eight roller and I need to get a steering and throttle servo reciver and transmitter.
I dont want to spend much right now just get it complete and run it for a while and upgrade parts as I go maybe to somthing like a spectrum or somthing like that.
SO my ? is whats some decent electronics not to cheap but not to expensive somthing that works good and will do the job for what I need I would like to buy the transmitter and reciver together and if it comes with good servos that works too.

Make sure what ever radio system you get has end point adjustment as this will make your servos last longer and is mandatory on digital servos.
Good steering servo. If you look around you can find them a little cheaper.

Good throttle servo.

I recommend if you have to wait a while to save up some money to get something 2.4 GHz as you just cannot beat it.

The servos that come with the DX2 are not real good for a 1/8 buggy. I have a set in my 1/10 scale stadium truck and are not real good in it. I guess you could try it but do not expect to much.

If you're gonna go 2.4Ghz, may I suggest the Airtronics MX-3FHSS. It's cheaper than the DX2.0, it's got 3 channels (good for hooking up a transponder for racing) and it has all the adjustment features you'll need. The DX2.0 lacks exponential adjustment, which is very handy for dialing in steering and throttle response. It does not come with servos, but like 46u said, the servos that come with the Spektrum systems are almost worthless and 100% worthless for 1/8 duty.
I ran the MX-3 FM radio and it was great; sad I sold it. I also run the servos that 46u linked to and they were flawless all season.

A few weeks ago my trusty high torque, metal gear, steering servo died during the final heat of a race (nothing good lasts forever...). I could only find a standard servo in my box, so that is what I installed as a spare. It only took 15 minutes to trash it. It was stripped out and ruined by the end of the main.
My suggestion is to take whatever standard servos come with your new radio and sell them on eBay. Use the money, to buy quality ones instead. (If you buy a Spektrum, the 590 might be okay for throttle/brake, but is not fast or strong enough to use for steering).
