Yes it should work but there are a few things that you need to check and remember before you buy that. I thought that the 3 ch surface receivers would not work with this radio but you would need to E-Mail Horizon Hobby to see if the surface receivers would work, and check to see if the air receivers would stand up to the vibrations in a car. Also there is no return spring on the left stick in the normal throttle position so you would have to either get used to using the right stick for throttle or get used to having no return spring on the throttle.

I recommend just getting a normal car radio for cars and when you start flying get at least a 7 channel radio unless you never plan on flying heli or more advanced planes.
