I had 300 or so flights on my Taylor Craft without the struts. I used a Saito 1.80. The struts broke off on the third flight, I replaced them and the replacment set broke within 4 more flights. A freind of mine is still flying his Taylor Craft and has never used the struts. They do look good when installed, but not needed for safe flight of the aircaft.
