H9 Taylor Craft ?
I have a H9 T-Craft that I received from my Uncle. It is a very nice plane. My question is, are the wing struts needed for flying? Also if someone has a instruction manual lying around I could use one. Please let me know something. Thanks, Rich O. Conneuat, Ohio

I had one of those and flew several dozen flights without the struts, they are not needed...

I've been flying my Hanger 9 Taylorcraft for many years. That's a pretty big wing, so I wouldn't attempt to fly it without the struts.
It may fly without the struts, but why take the chance.
Plus, it looks like the real Taylorcraft owned by Harold Hanson. It was used by Hanger 9 to make the ARF model.

I had 300 or so flights on my Taylor Craft without the struts. I used a Saito 1.80. The struts broke off on the third flight, I replaced them and the replacment set broke within 4 more flights. A freind of mine is still flying his Taylor Craft and has never used the struts. They do look good when installed, but not needed for safe flight of the aircaft.
