In case no one else noticed, I'll point out that HC has side stepped answering another direct question. This guy's better than Fred Astaire.
Thanks for the complement RT but I just wish. [sm=red_smile.gif]
I never could even master any of the CW line-dances. Other than the TX Two-Step, a nice waltz, and/or a few Western Swing steps I could not do well on the big floor.
So what was your DIRECT question? If it concerned LEVERAGE, that is not too hard.
1 : the action of a lever or the mechanical advantage gained by it
2 : POWER , EFFECTIVENESS <trying to gain more political leverage>
3 : the use of credit to enhance one's speculative capacity
Great little thing. Ever change a flat tire and use a handle to pump the hydraulic jack.
That's leverage. When I was a kid of 14, working in the log woods, I used a long handle with a hook on one end to turn logs over and get them in position. That was an example of "
leverage". In my later years, I was able to get a good deal on 100 acres of land because I had cash in hand so to speak the seller had another note coming due of over $150,000.oo in another venture, and I knew he needed a quick cash infusion, so I got the 100 acres for $250,000.oo rather than the $400,000.oo he was asking for. That is using
financial leverage. When I had teen agers, sometimes I had to stick the car-keys in MY pocket. That is a form of
leverage. [sm=48_48.gif] Hey, just think of how the ultra-rich just leveraged our Congress (you and I) to bail themselves out of their little self-made problems. Ol' Richard Fuld milked them for 480 million Washingtons just for himself. Not a bad day's work! [:@]
So what else do you wish to know about "Leverage"? It's used every day in so many ways.
