Would like to know if anyone has had any recent experience using Mobil oil-1

I have searched the internet and found that it was discontinued by Mobil over a year ago and read on another site that the shelve life was one year.

Now with a shelve life of one year, What could go wrong if you use it, Would it break down and not do the job the it was made for or still work fine as if it was not a year old.

Now all the things I said above is what I have read and do not know to be true or not.

Just something I would really like to know.
