I've had problems when breaking in engines with my ears, ringing and headaches... Didn't help that I was next to brick walls and that but next time I just used some in ear buds from a MP3 player, (isolating) and it worked perfect!

Other than breaking in I wouldn't bother and enjoy the noise .
