I don't think I ever tried a 3153 on the tail (used a 9257)- I have them on the swash, though, and they're very sturdy and precise for that, very good stuff. It'd probably work fine on the tail.

If you're looking at a Futaba gyro, I'd suggest kicking in the extra and getting the 401; the remote gain control is extremely useful.
