I do not beleive the one way bearing would keep it from starting some days and not others. If it is the original 15fe motor, then my guess would be the motor is shot. Those motor were ABN motors and wore out a heck of alot quicker than the newer ABC motors. You might also want to check you fuel tank for leaks, maybe even your fuel line. Was the engine properly cared for?
