So the guys who do this for a living, and put more hard hours on their engines than any of ours will ever see, are making a mess of their engines? And the fact that I am one of many who have adopted some of their well educated habits, and have seen the same positive results, makes no sense as a viable option for others? I should stay out of the oil debates....like others are choosing to do.

So yeah, follow the engine manufacturer's recommendation....
How people rape their engines is their concern. Profs simply get a new engine if it's RIP. Most ppl like their engine to last as long as possible and too much synthetic oil simply ruins the engine. E.g. Amsoil Saber is designed for lean 100:1 mixtures. Running it much richer than 80:1 isn't recommended. Many pages back there's a person with a DL100 broken in with a rich oil mixture and his engine is a mess. Wouldn't run anymore.

Simply follow the manufacturer's recommendations and your engine will last you for years.
For you Amzoil lovers....I got a unopened bottle I will sell real cheap. I was to a very large Engine show that had a super large flea market. I came upon a amzoil dealer. He was desperate to sell the stuff. I looked at the different ratios ..ect, he had as I started to walk away he dropped the price way down. After reading about all the negitive things about Amzoil..I never used it and never will. Not going to argue whats best...but it is not Amzoil. Capt,n
