I'm an electrician & when the ex boss changed from wood to fibreglass ladders they were all going to the dump.

I made this stand from one, one end is hung & hinged from the ceiling, the other end hangs on a trapese. To gain access one end drops down, a couple of simple legs fold to keep that end a couple of feet of the floor.

You could make something similar fro 4 x 2's if you had no ladder. - John.
