Default RE: Twin Otter 125inch wingspan

The flying weight of the plane is 35-45 lbs the plane could be built at about 25-30 lbs without engines - the electric prototype flys smooth and lands light at 44 lbs weight and appears as if it could easily handle more weight. at 1/6 scale and 130" wingspan this is a rather large model and requires in the area of 30cc +/- gas engines and in the area of 180-220 four stroke engines. I am presently building another Twin Otter as light as I can and will see if smaller gas engines in the 23-26 size range will work well but normal construction and reasonable detailing will need about 35cc gas or equal. The landing gear is a 1/4 music wire welded structure with a 3/16 thick backing down to the normal break in the gear leg in full size twin otter . This should be an easy make by the builder but I can make them up on request if necessary John
