. Amsoil Saber is designed for lean 100:1 mixtures. Running it much richer than 80:1 isn't recommended. Many pages back there's a person with a DL100 broken in with a rich oil mixture and his engine is a mess. Wouldn't run anymore.

Simply follow the manufacturer's recommendations and your engine will last you for years.
Not to be argumentative, but,,,,,,,

The ratios specified for the oil during breakin is a property of the oil, not of the break in process. A high quality mineral oil is used to "bead/seat" the rings and the 30:1 ratio of most mineral oils is dictated by the oil manufacture and not by DL/DA/3W etc. The mineral oil is used due to the fact that it is "rougher" than a high quality synthetic. Using a synthetic oil at a higher ratio than that specified by the oil manufacturer will only cause a carbon build up in the head which will will lead to problems in later life with the engine and the motor will never be broken in properly.
