Default RE: Chip Hyde's Cap-X - Building & Flying

ORIGINAL: Lightning Fan

... someone asked if anyone was still flying their CAP-X.

... When you get into a harrier for the first time, which works on this ship just fine with no wing rocking ... whew! The smile on your face just cannot be wiped off.
Yep, still flying mine and it has held up well except for some trim missing from both sides of the stab. I'm using a Perry pumped OS 1.60FX for power. I still prefer glow on this size plane.

I agree with your assessment of it's harrier capabilities. Considering that some Caps have a reputation for scary flight characteristics, the Cap-X is the model that I feel most at ease with doing harrier landings. Though the Cap-X is a great harrier machine, I rarely harrier all the way down to a landing because it is just another chance to make a lousy landing and mess up your landing gear.
