If you replace your own antenna the antenna lead is attached to a circuit board with a "snap" type fastener. The only catch is: it has to be removed and installed in a certain way.

Facing the back of the radio (with the antenna connection exposed) and the top of the radio facing up, the "snap" wire MUST be at the 3 o'clock position to be removed or installed. I've replaced two on a 9303 so far and the first time it took forever, the second about 10 minutes!
