Putting my dx-7 in the truck i broke the top of the antenna off. I cant seem to fine a replacement online. Do you have to send the tx back to get a new antenna installed?

HI
I had the same thing happen to me about a week ago except Im not sure how it broke. I called HorizonHobby and they told me to mail it in for a free one time repair. The only thing though is you pay shipping for it to get there, so it may be cheaper to just buy the replacement antenna.

Can you replace just the pin holding the joint on the antenna together?
Only my pin broke and I'm using heavy fishing line through the holes to tie it together.

I think the antenna listed in Post #2 above is for one of the Spektrum modules (used to adapt other brands) and NOT a DX-7 radio. Not the same thing I'd bet but I could be wrong. At the very least contact Horizon and get the correct part number to order.

Here's the [link=http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=EFLH1058]link[/link] for the proper antenna. If you replace your own antenna the antenna lead is attached to a circuit board with a "snap" type fastener. The only catch is: it has to be removed and installed in a certain way.
Facing the back of the radio (with the antenna connection exposed) and the top of the radio facing up, the "snap" wire MUST be at the 3 o'clock position to be removed or installed. I've replaced two on a 9303 so far and the first time it took forever, the second about 10 minutes!
Good luck!
