Possibly so, but flying conditions might vary causing the flow of oil to also vary? I probably wouldn't risk the engine and reduce oil content. I know the recirculating system does reduce the mess, but Saito does not do this.........so I wonder if it robs power. A couple of hundred rpms with an 18 inch prop is significant.
I will do some experiments next spring.
