I have had 5 STS engines and only had a problem with one of them. Some I have 5 plus gallons on them still running fine. The only one out of five I had problems with was one modified by RBmods and it never did run properly out of the box new. I do not have the 30 STS as it is not race legal. I now have 3 STS 21 for my race buggies and one .28 for my race Savage.

Yes I agree the LRP is better like all SH based engines and if you want what I hear is the best of all try the Picco .28 P3. I hope to be able to voice my opinion shortly on the Picco as mine just arrived today.
