I took the intake manifold off, just put a piece of paper over the block, It could be a crankcase leak, but like you say, it would have to be severe, a gasket or seal leak would give a crummy idle, but the engine would at least suck air in to some extent. It not a reed engine. Hmmmmm,,,,,,
