From what I can tell you never really got on the pipe. Not saying you aren't going like yesterday's stink but I think there is a whole nuther gear in that thing when you hit the higher rpms.

Yeah, it sounds like an aircraft starting a takeoff roll, then backing off just as it starts to bite. More room! Stay on the throttle! More rpm! Easy to say, harder to do, I know!
Man that thing goes like boiled snot. What prop are you using, dunno if that info is buried somewhere in the last 9 pages..
I just impulse bought my first real RC boat, a Sprint Cat c/w OPS .45.. shame the ponds are all frozen now. Sigh. Something to fool with when the temp and sun cooperates but the air doesn't. Got a big municipal lake about 10 minutes from here with permission to do stuff like this at the far end. As a lifelong airplane guy it might be a struggle to come to grips with starting a .45 with a 1.5" prop..
