RE: back in the hobby!
the 427 is farely descent at holding a tune. seems like i'l fall back on mine more than id like to considering all the engines i drag around. the things just reliable. iv been running on clay more than loose dirt and i run several sets of holeshots. with loose dirt i carry around a couple sets of crimefighters and got a couple bowties.I have some panthers(have no idea what they are, they were given to me.they just say panther on them, they are very soft crimefighter looking tread) most guys i race with prefer switch on clay and bowties on loose dirt. id just talk to the lhs guy and maybe he can hook you up with one or the other to try before dropping $50 on a set. fresh xxt's do me fine. as long as they are clean and glued with 85% tread(not bashed on concrete)they are good to go. Just be sure when and if you do buy tyres for your 8t they are offset and trug not monster truck tires.
seems like every 8t rtr has a different item that breaks. Iv been to the track to practice on more than 1 occassion and somebodies there flying quads and landing 2 lanes over lol awe that was you! lol just kidn. iv stood there and had fellas breakin everything from multiple shock oring retainers(on race rollers and rtrs, rtr has plastic race roller has metal and the metal ones fail more than the plastic, usually from overtightening on assembly)to multiple shock ends to servo horns and springs lost and all kinds of crap and here i am handing out used hardware and parts and end up needing those parts myself later. thats a new one though the sway bar holder breaking. huh. I go through after every practice/race day and try to replace and rebuild as much as possible. part of the sports wrenching
glad to hear your liking it! I cant get enouph myself!!
