Yes, sir. They are unable to tell me. The last character - S - is common to both codes, so if you dropped the S, the cells are 1 and 2 years old, respectively.
I tell you, I didn't know it was so cryptic and difficult to obtain the cell's age. Unless you have a tremendous interest in safety, you would give up and just buy whatever these vendors were selling. This has the opposite effect on me - just makes me more suspicious.
I'll try Sanyo in Frisco, TX, and see if they have an answer.
