Default Novice_simulator software

I have read much of what is posted here but considering my computer illiteracy and novice status would appreciate some more help.
As a gift my son and I received a Parkzone F4U Corsair for xmas. It includes a DX 5e transmitter. What I would like to do is purchase an appropriate software package that will aid the learning process, along with an instructor for added oversight.

FS1 has an appealing price though I am open to other recommendations. I have reviewed the compilation of sim data by another poster. I also note quite a few posts regarding installl and operating issues. Something I would hope to avoid. By the way i downloaded the G4 demo and with its limited load operates fine but with keyboard only at this time.

Questions:

Will the DX5e link to my computer to allow for full operation or will another transmitter be required?

I have a number of computer choices
1. HP with XP, amd Turion 64x2, 2.19 ghz, 1.87 gb ram
2. Dell with xp, 1.66 ghz, .99gb ram

Try as i might i couldn't identify the graphic capability-my computer illiteracy.

So, recommendations on software and computer to aid the learning process and to minimize or eliminate computer install/operating issues please.
