Boy, tough crowd here! LOL Sounds like you need to do what I did: make the spare bedroom into an "airplane room". Now my airplanes have heat in the Winter and air-conditioning in the Summer. They never had it so good. I still build in the basement but it's a finished basement so it's not too bad. Unless you have a glass table in the dining room it's probably not flat enough to build a Pattern plane on anyway. Set up a nice shop in the basement. With some latex paint on the walls and a little carpeting on the floor it might not be so bad.

No, I'm not married but it's probably a good idea to put the ariplane somewhere "safe" until after the festivities are over (your wife is kinda right). LOL
