Oh dear, how old?
a sure sign of them getting old is a wobble at center....they will twitch at center and over correct then over correct in the other direction and back and forth and back and forth....thats the top case going...then it'll let the gears outta sink and eat a gear set.....i have Countless set's of 1015 gears to prove this as well.
That's sounds like the problem starts with the bearing. Well, it's time to go check mine.
nah the bearing has nothing to do with it...its the top case thats the issue....and now supposedly they have brass inserts now....but ive only heard and seen one in a pic.

I recently looked into this too, cuz the Aces were going really cheap out of England for me, and I wanted to pick up a couple backups. Well, I'd always heard a bit too much negative feedback to feel comfortable, and the asking around kind of confirmed it... Even at a deal, there's no point in unreliable servos IMO. I know lots of guys love their Aces, but there are just too many people out there with bad experiences to feel confident laying down the cash for them - that's my conclusion anyway...
So I'm sticking with my Hitecs..
The 5955 is a tank. It'll probably outlast your truggy.
I was looking at the hitec 7955 tg for the steering on my 8t. Is the 5955 a less exspensive servo?
the 7955 replaced the 5955.

and to this day I wont buy any hitec servos..cheap, they still have centering problems or at least the ones I and my friends have had did..it's all just opinions..
Does the warrenty cover this or just electrical and gear failures?
the warranty will cover anything and everything....Including your dog using it as a chew toy. (seriously i remember reading a member post that)
send it in and they WILL take care of you....receipt or not....i have never ever seen a hitec "centering" problem.
if you can break Titanium gears....your definatly doing something WRONG.
