Personnally i would change out both. If you have the 650m it's a little to slow for my liking and the regular 650 doesn't have enough torque for either the steering or the throttle/brake but is plenty fast.
I guess it depends on how much you want to spend and how competitive you want to be.
That's why I like the Ace 1015. They have a good balance of speed and torque.

Ya I'll do the steering first with a 7955tg. Im assuming the buggy 2.0 tray will work on my 8ight-t ? I would like to get a new tray so I could use my king headz stiffener. I think you read the thread about that issue I was having with it not fitting on my rtr tray. Cant get a pic loaded on. Do you think my tray stiffener for the 8t will fit the 2.0 tray? Thanks

there's no need for the tray stiffner on the 2.0 and it wont fit anyways...all you have to do to use the 2.0 tray in the truggy is modify the dirt guard....possibly shave a mm or 2 off the chassy or Shim the servo UP...and of corse the linkages being longer you have to re-rig your 1.0's or buy the 2.0 linkages.
