quick, cheap 3D plane to practice with.
The Uproar's 3D capability is limited. You'll find if you build it anything close to stock (mine is 1/2" larger), the rudder isn't nearly authoratative enough for
real 3D flying. The real deficiency is the lack of fuselage area especially in knife. Great "fun-fly" in the traditional sense though. With the controls cranked up, it'll loop within it's own length and roll at 720+ degrees per second. But get it into a hover and if it falls more than 20 degrees to it's side, and you won't be able to recover.
If you're looking for an inexpensive kit with excellent 3D performance, check into the Morris line of profile planes. I've got a Knife and Sledge and they both 3D considerably better than my Uproar.
If you do decide to build the Uproar, keep it light with a lightweight engine (like the OS 32SX, TT Pro-36, Irvine 39, etc). A 46 up front will necessitate the need for lead out back to balance.
