Hey you know what would work, and is cheap? Make some tarps and either tie themdown all rolled up after sanding the ammo crates off. (Trust me we never carried any type of ammo boxes outside the hull. One reason is the 120mm rounds were detonated by electricity, not to mention the obvious hazard. You might find a picture of some tank somewhere with ammo crates on them but I can just about bet they are being used for something else.)

Another little trick you might try is make some tarps to cover the boxes. Let it be a mystery. When someone asks tell them you don't even know.
